Alternative Bars, Venues with Live Music, Shops, Restaurants and Cinemas in Galicia

Let's start with Vigo...
As I mentioned already in my other story in this blog, the night life in Vigo is in Churruca if you are looking for nice bars like the one called "La Casa de Arriba" ...

...or "Cousa Nosa" , "Cantina Candela", "Pub Churruca 20" or others...

Well...La Mina is the bar to visit in old town of Vigo. I visited it when still in kind of "ancient hands". Now I heard and saw the owners are new. And visited it once more...Still worth visiting...

As well in the district "Calle Pizarro" where there are names of countries. To mention here only one very nice one, called "Restaurante Imperial" with good tapas.

In this district of names of countries you can find also a nice vegetarian restaurants or cafeterias like "Albahaca" or "Terrae".

...as well as an interesting shop Called "Caramba" to buy kind of alternative clothing. Caramba has its spots elsewhere in Vigo too.

Or then there is a Street of  Rosalia de Castro. I heard the other day that it is kind of quite new venue in Vigo. Although new may mean being street of nice bars already 5 years or even more. The locals know this better than me.

Or may be you go better to the Old Town (Casco Vello - Casco Viejo). Once not so nice spot, but today yes, check it! You can find there home food (comida casera) in a small, very nice restaurant called "Bar Lobo do Mar", vegetarian restaurants like the one called "Taperia Madiba",  nostalgic bars like the one called "Edra" and discos like the one called "Toni's Guitar" and some other spots, very interesting ones...

I read Toni's is open until 5 O'Clock. Well, we were there only until 3 O'Clock.

Talking about music I found in this district also a very nostalgic record store called "Elepé" . Already more than 36 years old. A fantastic place to visit! Do not miss it! You can smell the history, even if you only look at the photos below...

And where are the musical venues in Vigo? In Churruca, "La Fabrica de Chocolate Club" or "La Iguana Club". Others to be mentioned are "Contrabajo" and "El Infierno", but elsewhere as in Churruca.

The evening you may want to begin in "Hush Rock" and in tasting their own beer...

...or tasting the very own artesanal beers of Galicia.

Here you can find here a full list of Venues with live music in Vigo.

And here some tips of Venus with live music from all around Galicia. Tips given  by one of my Galician friends. Thanks very much!
A pleasure for me to get to know Galicia every day better...So...

"Clavicémbalo" in Lugo

"Aturuxo" in Bueu
"SalaSon" in Cangas
"Madrigras" in A Coruña

To finalize...Do not forget the Comics shop in Vigo. Norma Comics or Sousa Comics. or there are couple of more them too...

...or the nostalgic cinemas with quality movies in Vigo (Multicines Norte) or Baiona.

So...I came to Vigo from Finland for the first time almost 20 years ago. As I wanted to travel so far as possible, if you look it from Finland. In Europe, I mean. To participate in a Spanish course.

Finland lies in the other end of Europe from seeing from Spain. As you can see in the list of distances below. Laponia or Lappland you can find in the northern part of Finland. The capital of Finland called Helsinki lies more or less 1000 km to the south of Laponia.
